BREAK POINT'S 'FIRST SERVING' OFFERS UP A SECOND HELPING
01/24/07 - A quarter century after it's initial release, 'First Serving' the cult classic album from German/British/American quintet Break Point is getting the re-issue treatment from Regeneration Records with all new artwork and remastered by Danny Danzi at DanziLand Studios.

Formed in late 1979 in Frankfurt, Germany the band quickly became a top draw on the lucrative US military club circuit throughout the country due to their powerful live presence and above par musicianship. Within a year they managed to gather the money necessary to go into Frankfurt's Cream Studios and record an album that over time would go on to sell more than 5,000 copies. Self produced, 'First Serving' was influenced by the likes of Toto, Kansas, Styx and the popular AOR bands of the era. Songs such as the poppy "Hard Road" and "The Best Of Me" along with the quirky "French Fried Kiss" became instant concert favourites while progressive rock fans found a coupling with "Down, Down, Down" and "The Wurst Song."

Selling out shows across the country year in and out earned Break Point the respect of concert promoters, who put the band forward for the opening slot on Mother's Finest's 1983 summer tour. Winning over new fans night after night can only bring positive results and the band was soon after flown to the Southwestern United States to open a string of shows for a popular hard rock act called Sabotage from Texas. Despite the musical differences Break Point once again came away with an arsenal of new fans. During this run they also opened several dates on Australian pop star Billy Thorpe's ("Children Of The Sun") US tour.

Upon returning to Frankfurt Break Point continued writing new material and once again hit their familiar clubs when their charismatic frontman, Daved Hallcom (the lone American in the band) left to return to the States. While it was a bit of a blow to the band's fanbase the remainng members didn't miss a beat, bringing in English singer Steve Tolley. A dynamic frontman in his own right, Tolley had built a name for himself playing the same clubs as Break Point as the lead guitarist / singer for the band Dizzy Heights.

With Tolley on board the band continued storming the club circuit and attracted the interest of Rocshire / MCA Records president Peter Hauke. A top producer, having worked on albums from the likes of Tony Carey, Nektar, Max Carl, Planet P and others, Hauke helmed a four song demo at his own Hotline Studios. Rocshire offered the band a deal which they were advised to reject and they and Hauke went their separate ways.

Shortly thereafter keyboardist Martin Gerschwitz left the band and relocated to Los Angeles where he found quick success performing with the likes of Tim Bogert, Loverboy and Eddie Van Halen. In due time Martin would find himself alongside artists such as Lita Ford, Meat Loaf, Walter Trout, Vanilla Fudge and Eric Burdon & The Animals.

While Break Point enjoyed success as a quartet, bassist Jim Stacey soon found himself joining legendary metal band Accept as the second guitarist on their 'Eat The Heat' album and tour.

Singer Steve Tolley left Break Point several months later and the band parted ways soon after, bringing an end to a decade long run for a band who were one of the few that can say they found success on their own terms.

ALLEYCAT SCRATCH RETURN TO TRASH CITY
(Hollywood, CA - March 29, 2006)  Cult sleaze rockers Alleycat Scratch made the long lonely trek from the Bay Area of California to the City of Angels (and smog, crime and shattered dreams) in the early 90's to make a name for themselves.  And make a name they did.  Hailed as one of the top indie glam acts to take the stage, the quartet released their sole album to date, the bombastic 'Deadboys In Trash City' in 1993 to a wealth of global fan and critical acclaim.

Unfortunately for the band, just as the music industry started to take notice of Alleycat Scratch the musical tide changed and the momentum the band had built suddenly ground to a halt and the band had very few options available to them.  In April of 1994 the inevitable happened and Alleycat Scratch pulled the claws out one last time for a packed show at Los Angeles' famed Roxy Theater.  It was their last stand and they went down fighting as a screaming, blood thirsty audience showed Eddie Robison, Devin Lovelace, Bobby "Boa" Dias and Robbi Black their appreciation by giving their heroes a drunken orgy of a send off that many of their Sunset Strip predecessors would have been envious of.

Thirteen years later the time has come for the world to revisit the 'Deadboys In Trash City' album via a special CD/DVD package from new reissue label Regeneration Records.  Featuring updated artwork, the original ten songs plus two bonus tracks (a cover of The Boomtown Rats' "I Don't Like Mondays" and the infamous "Love Song" from the X Rated"Backdoor To The City Of Sin" film) and a DVD comprised of live footage and extra goodies, the package will be unleashed in May of 2006 and will be the flagship release for Regeneration.

REGENERATION RECORDS LAUNCHES!
(Hollywood, CA - March 15, 2006)
Regeneration Records is a specialty label dealing with re-issues of primarily 80's and 90's independently released rock albums from acts that could have - and should have - been much more successful if their timing had just been a bit better or if they had been presented with a larger budget at the time or any of a number of other factors that stood in their collective paths. Early signings include Los Angeles glamsters Alleycat Scratch, German based multi-national AOR act Break Point and Seattle area metal masters Hammer Head.
